According to the National Weather Service, Tropical Storm Nicole is poised to make landfall as a Category 1 hurricane early Thursday morning, sweeping across the state, potentially into the Gulf of Mexico, and through the heart of the Florida peninsula on Friday. 

The FHSAA issued span stspantement on Tuesday that all high school football playoff games are to be played Thursday-Saturday at the discretion of hosting athletic directors.

A named storm has not made landfall in Florida in November since Tropical Storm Mitch in 1998.
