INDIANTOWN — A Moore Haven woman was killed and the driver of the car she was riding in seriously injured, in a two-vehicle collision Friday morning northwest of Indiantown, state troopers said.
The woman, whose age and identity were not disclosed, was traveling south in a unspecified sedan at about 11:43 a.m. Friday on Warfield Boulevard when the driver of the sedan, an 80-year-old Moore Haven man, attempted to turn east onto Martin Highway.
The car turned into the path of a tractor-trailer that was heading north on Warfield Boulevard, a Florida Highway Patrol report said Friday. The truck, which was being driven by an otherwise unidentified 43-year-old man from Mapleton City, Ga., struck the passenger’s side of the car, FHP said.
In the ensuing crash, the car ended up on the east shoulder of Warfield Boulevard, and the semi came to a stop in the northbound travel lane. The woman in the car sustained fatal injuries, and the man was seriously injured, FHP said.
No further information was available Saturday.
