Which Sprouts Farmers Market store in Florida is closing?
Sprouts this week announced it would close 11 stores nationwide for being “too big” and underperforming financially.
The 30,000-square-foot Wellington location will shut down April 30. Until then, it will continue operating regularly from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. The store opened to huge crowds in May 2019, according to the Palm Beach Post.
Where is Sprouts coming to Florida?
With news of the closings comes an announcement to expand. The supermarket chain will open 30 smaller concept stores this year with at least three in Florida.
A new store will open March 17 − St. Patrick’s Day − at 330 Buena Vista Blvd., the Villages.
Another Sprouts Farmers Market property will open April 28 at 9831 Glades Road and U.S. 441 in Boca Raton.
In Brevard County, Sprouts will open its first location there at West Melbourne Interchange Center in the Esporta/LA Fitness-anchored commercial plaza.
“The lease has officially been executed. It is slated (to open) the summer of 2023,” Courtney Schrauben, a Sprouts spokesperson based in Phoenix, told FLORIDA TODAY in June 2022. “It is going to be a new-format store, which is super exciting,” Schrauben said.
The “new-format store” will measure smaller than the chain’s typical 30,000-square-foot supermarkets.
