Friday’s scores

Baseball

Vero Beach 10, Sebastian River 3: Chase Wilson hit a go-ahead two-run double as part of a five-run fifth inning and added another two-run double in the sixth inning to help his team to their eighth consecutive victory to start the season.

The Sharks (7-3) went ahead three pitches into the game as Ethan Camilo launched a solo home run the opposite way to right field.

After Vero Beach answered with a run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Finley Holmes, Sebastian River regained the lead on an RBI groundout from Issac Geller in the second inning.

Both starting pitchers settled in as Blake Holshouser for Vero Beach and Kix Hofer for Sebastian River put up zeroes into the fifth inning before Vero Beach struck for a big inning.

Camren Perez tied the game at two with an RBI single to center before Wilson lined a double into the gap in left-center to put Vero (8-0) ahead 4-2.

Cole Morgan added a two-run triple to right field that made it 6-2 for Vero Beach but Sebastian River’s Aiden Cameron launched a solo home run to cut the lead to 6-3 in the sixth.

Wilson’s two-run double to left was part of a four-run sixth inning that iced the victory for Vero Beach.

Holshouser struck out four in 6⅓ innings to earn the win on the mound for Vero Beach.

Martin County 11, Lake Howell 4: Jake Schincariol went 2-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI and Nick Robert struck out nine in six innings to lead the Tigers (7-5) to victory in Sanford. Anthony Trigillo went 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored two runs and Brennan Refenning went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Martin County.

West Orange 5, Treasure Coast 4: Nicholas Stagg went 2-for-3 with an RBI, Austin Glover had two hits and Greyson Cripps struck out six in 4⅓ innings in the loss for the Titans (6-4) in Sanford.

Jensen Beach 4, Orangewood Christian 2: Chris Knier struck out nine in 5⅓ scoreless innings, allowing one hit and Cian Copeland went 2-for-3 with a solo home run to help the Falcons (4-5) win the Prospect Select High School Classic in Viera. Dylan Fatovich went 2-for-3 and scored a run, Connor Cantillo had a triple and scored a run and Kevin Smith had an RBI at the plate and pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning to earn the save for Jensen Beach.

Treasure Coast 3, Hagerty 0: Raymond Missett had a three-run double in a four-run sixth inning for the Titans and Logan Zavala threw a two-hit shutout, striking out six at the Florida League High School Invitational in Sanford. Nicholas Stagg went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Treasure Coast.

John Carroll Catholic 14, Clewiston 0 (6 innings): Tracen Cameron struck out seven in three shutout innings and Taggert Cameron struck out five in three scoreless inning and went 2-for-4 with two RBI to lead the Rams (7-4) to a 3-0 week at the Sebring Spring Break Tournament. Anthony Ferraro hit a solo home run, Caleb Fontus had a hit and drove in two runs and Ryan Chapman went 2-for-2 with a double and scored two runs for John Carroll Catholic.

Sebastian River 8, Melbourne Central Catholic 1: Victoria Wehrberger struck out 15 and allowed a lone hit and an unearned run and Jasmin Huber went 2-for-4 with a home run and a double, driving in five runs to help the Sharks (10-0) remain unbeaten on the season. Amonty Johnson had two hits and Ava Anderson had a double and an RBI for Sebastian River.

Baseball

Vero Beach 3, Seminole Ridge 0: Brock Thomas tossed a four-hit shutout, striking out nine to lead Vero (7-0) in the win. Chase Wilson and Cam Perez each had a hit and an RBI for Vero Beach.

John Carroll Catholic 7, Avon Park 2: Tracen Cameron went 4-for-4 with a triple, two doubles and drove in two runs to lead the Rams (6-3) to victory in Sebring. Anthony Ferraro had two hits and an RBI, Camrin Weeks struck out seven and allowed two unearned runs and Jake Rychter struck out four in two perfect innings of relief for John Carroll.

Sebastian River 13, Astronaut 3 (6 innings): Ethan Camilo went 3-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Sharks (7-2) in the win. Aiden Cameron went 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI at the plate and struck out three in two scoreless innings of relief, Tyler Jones went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, Thomas Villar and Will Cotgreave each had a hit and drove in two runs and Ben Zolecki struck out three and allowed three unearned runs for Sebastian River.

South Fork 7, Lake Howell 4: Conner Wiggins went 2-for-2 with two RBI and Curtis Vinning had a hit and also drove in two runs to lead the way for the Bulldogs (5-4). John Roberts went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Roger Perez threw 3⅓ scoreless innings of relief to pick up the win on the mound for South Fork.

Martin County 2, East River 1: Cody Bennin scattered six hits, allowed one run and struck out nine in a complete game effort to lead the Tigers (6-5) to victory in Sanford. Logan Saake went 3-for-4 at the plate and Michael Sanchez drove in a run for Martin County, who scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth.

Jensen Beach 21, Barron Collier 10: Dominic Donatucci went 5-for-5 with a pair of doubles and hit a three-run home run as part of a six-RBI day in the win for the Falcons (3-5). Connor Cantillo hit a grand slam in a nine-run second inning for Jensen Beach and went 3-for-3 with a double and six RBI, Kevin Smith hit a three-run home run, Graham Garner went 3-for-5 with an RBI and Jake Figman had two doubles at the plate for the Falcons.

Austin Glover went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Treasure Coast.

John Carroll Catholic 9, Lake Placid 4: Taggert Cameron went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI and Hunter Watley threw five innings, allowing two unearned runs in the win for the Rams (5-4) at the Sebring Blue Streak Classic Tournament. Colt Miller had a double and two RBI and Matt Correa went 2-for-4 with a double for John Carroll Catholic.

Martin County 5, Mount Dora 4: Logan Saake went 3-for-3 with two RBI to lead the Tigers (5-5) to a win in their first game at the Florida League High School Invitational Classic in Sanford. Wes Cimperman went 2-for-3 and scored two runs and Joseph Cuccurullo picked up the win in relief, throwing 1⅔ innings for Martin County.

Jensen Beach 3, Lake Nona 0: Cian Copeland struck out nine in six shutout innings and Dylan Fatovich went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the win for the Falcons (2-5) at the Prospect Select High School Classic in Viera. Vincent Cooke went 2-for-3 with a double and scored a run for Jensen Beach.
