It was another excellent season for the strongest girls on the Treasure Coast as the area produced 31 state qualifiers and at the state meet, a total of 10 medals were claimed.
Vero Beach, after winning their seventh straight district and regional championships as a team, produced the most state medals as three lifters brought home five combined medals with three of those gold medals.
Seniors Arianna Keyes and Karma French took the top spots in their weight classes with Keyes sweeping the traditional and Olympic lifts and French winning at the Olympic lifts to help Vero Beach finish in third as a team in the Olympic lifts.
Led by Keyes and French, who became the fifth and sixth competitors from Vero Beach to win individual state championships, the team again led the area at the state tournament finishing in a tie for third as a team in the Olympic lifts and was sixth in the traditional lifts.
Lifter of the Year
Arianna Keyes, Vero Beach
Year: Senior
Highlights: In her lone season for Vero Beach after competing at Centennial her prior three years, Keyes made giant leaps with her strength to proper her to success at the state championships. After winning district and regional titles in the Olympic and traditional lifts, Keyes achieved a new state record in the snatch for the unlimited division in 3A with a lift of 170 pounds and added lifts of 195 on the bench press and 215 for the clean-and-jerk for totals of 365 pounds in the Olympic lifts and 410 pounds for the traditional lifts to win state titles.

First Team
Karma French, Vero Beach
Year: Senior
Highlights: French won district and regional titles in the Olympic and traditional lifts and delivered a memorable performance at the state championship, lifting 125 pounds for the snatch and 160 pounds on the clean-and-jerk for a 285-pound total that won the state title in the Olympic lifts at 110 pounds in 3A. French added a lift of 130 pounds on the bench press for a total of 290 pounds in the traditional lifts to earn a bronze medal.
Aliciana McCloyne, Treasure Coast
Year: Senior
Highlights: In her final high school season, McCloyne had an excellent season finishing up with a bronze medal in Olympic lifts at 154 pounds in 3A with 145 pounds on the snatch and 180 pounds on the clean-and-jerk for a 325-pound total. McCloyne also won district and regional titles in the Olympic and traditional lifts, finishing ninth at state in the traditional lifts.
Sophia Gannascoli, Jensen Beach
Year: Senior
Highlights: Specializing in the traditional lifts, Gannscoli had a big senior season winning district and regional championships before finishing fourth at the state championship at 139 pounds in 2A with lifts of 160 pounds on the clean-and-jerk and 170 pounds on the bench press for a 330-pound total.
Enyjai Tyson, Vero Beach
Year: Junior
Highlights: Tyson made big strides from her sophomore year and first won district and regional titles in the Olympic and traditional lifts before winning two state medals. Tyson took fourth in the traditional lifts (390 pounds) and fifth in the Olympic lifts (345 pounds) with lifts of 145 pounds on the snatch and 195 pounds on both the bench press and clean-and-jerk.
Vanessa Hernandez, Sebastian River
Year: Senior
Highlights: Hernandez was a district champion in both the Olympic and traditional lifts at 119 pounds before finishing fourth in the Olympic lifts at the state championship in 2A, putting up 110 pounds on the snatch and 150 pounds for the clean-and-jerk for a 260-pound total and added a seventh place finish in the traditional lifts.
Isabella Ramirez, John Carroll Catholic
Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Ramirez won district and regional titles in the unlimited division and at the state tournament brought home a fourth place finish in 1A with lifts of 130 pounds on the snatch and 190 pounds for the clean-and-jerkĀ for a 320-pound total.
Mollie McCain, Vero Beach
Year: Junior
Highlights: McCain won district titles in both the Olympic and traditional lifts, was a regional champion in the Olympic lifts and at the state tournament finished eighth in the Olympic lifts and tenth in the traditional lifts in 3A at 183 pounds.
Bliss Weiler, South Fork
Year: Junior
Highlights: Weiler was a district runner-up in both the Olympic and traditional lifts and at the state tournament finished eighth in the Olympic lifts and tenth in the traditional lifts in 2A at 110 pounds.
Sydney Thompson, Vero Beach
Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Thompson was a district and regional runner-up in both the Olympic and traditional lifts and at the state tournament finished ninth in the Olympic lifts and 11th in the traditional lifts in 3A at 110 pounds.
Kendall Lopez, Centennial
Year: Junior
Highlights: Lopez was a district and regional champion in the traditional lifts and at the state tournament finished 11th in the traditional lifts and 15th in the Olympic lifts in 3A at 101 pounds.

Year: Senior
Highlights: Martinez was a district and regional champion in both the Olympic and traditional lifts and at the state tournament finished 16th in the Olympic lifts and 18th in the traditional lifts in 3A at 119 pounds.
Mikale Lemons, John Carroll Catholic
Year: Sophomore
Highlights: Lemons was a district champion in both the Olympic and traditional lifts and at the state tournament finished 15th in the Olympic lifts and was also 15th in the traditional lifts in 1A at 154 pounds.

Year: Junior
Highlights: Kleinschmidt was a district and regional champion in the traditional and Olympic lifts and at the state tournament finished 18th in the Olympic lifts in 3A at 183 pounds.
