Vero Beach Oktoberfest
- 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday

- The two-day event features food, beer, full-liquor bars, polka bands, a huge biergarten and over 150 vendor booths with arts and crafts and local businesses.

Indian River Lagoon Science Festival
- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday
- River Walk Center, 600 N. Indian River Drive, Fort Pierce
- The seventh annual event science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) festival features hands-on activities from over 50 exhibitors across the Treasure Coast, plus stage presentations and food trucks.

Chili Cook-Off

- Clover Park, 31 Piazza Drive, Port St. Lucie
- The 40th annual event has a theme of Explore the World for a wide variety of chili recipes from across the globe. Plus, there’s a chili eating contest, a children’s Jell-O eating contest, trick-or-treating, a costume contest, a car show, a Boys & Girls Club art show, activities and games.

St. Joseph Fall Festival
- 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday
- St. Joseph Catholic School, 1200 S.E. 10th St., Stuart
- The ninth annual event features live entertainment, food, beverages, a 50/50 raffle, a silent auction, carnival games and large carnival rides.

Spooktacular Night at the Park
- 6 p.m. Friday; haunted house opens at 6:30 p.m., movie starts at 7:30 p.m.
- Memorial Park, 300 S.E. Ocean Blvd., Stuart
- Dress in Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat around the spooky trail. Children ages 8 and older can visit the “Old School Thriller” haunted house. End the evening with “Beetlejuice” on the big screen. Food trucks will be on site. JD Parker PTO will be selling popcorn and drinks. Bring blankets.
