MARTIN COUNTY — Bathtub Beach on Hutchinson Island will reopen to the public Monday after being closed for almost two months for a storm-response project.
Sand was added to strengthen the beach’s dunes and consequently protect Southeast MacArthur Boulevard, which was temporarily closed Nov. 10 after experiencing flooding from Hurricane Nicole. The county’s coast also endured “fairly significant” erosion after Hurricane Ian impacted the area in late September.
Hurricane sespanson spans from June. 1 to Nov. 30.
