PORT ST. LUCIE − A 75-year-old man out for a morning walk Monday died after police said a vehicle struck him in the Tradition area west of Interstate 95, a police spokesperson said.
Port St. Lucie Police at 8:06 a.m went to Southwest Community Boulevard and Southwest Westcliffe Lane regarding the crash.
Investigators reported a 36-year-old woman driving a Hyundai Tucson was exiting the roundabout when the 75-year-old man was struck. The 75-year-old man was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

Sgt. John Dellacroce, police spokesperson, said the 75-year-old man, a Port St. Lucie resident, was out for a morning walk and was by himself at the time. The man’s name was not immediately available.
Dellacroce said the man was in the area of a crosswalk, but the specific spot where the crash happened remains under investigation. Whether the incident could result in a charge or citation also remains under investigation, he said.
The 36-year-old woman, the only person in the Hyundai, was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
