ST. LUCIE COUNTY − Florida’s Turnpike northbound is being diverted Monday afternoon as the Florida Highway Patrol investigates a reported fatal traffic crash on the turnpike north of the Fort Pierce exit.

Where: The crash was reported about 11 miles north of the Okeecobee Road exit.

What: Five vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, are involved in the crash. One person is dead, and others sustained minor injuries.

When: FHP was dispatched at 12:28 p.m. Monday to the incident.

Impact: All northbound lanes of the Turnpike are blocked, and northbound traffic is being diverted at the Fort Pierce exit.
