Samuel B. Rambo was appointed as the Superintendent of Public Grounds and Buildings in Pennsylvania on February 12, 1907. He was born on October 21, 1863, in Elkton, Maryland, and educated in public schools in his native county and Wilmington, Delaware. Rambo began his career as a carpenter and later advanced to the position of foreman before becoming superintendent, overseeing significant construction projects, including the building of the Capitol.
