Cut Coin State Quarter
2001 Vermont Cut Coin Maple Trees Necklace US State Quarter American Jewelry
The reverse (tails) side of the Vermont state quarter features a design depicting Mountain, one of the state's prominent natural landmarks. In the foreground, a maple tree is depicted with sap buckets attached, highlighting Vermont's association with the maple syrup industry. The design also includes the state's nickname, "The Green Mountain State," and the phrase "Freedom and Unity," the state motto of Vermont.
The design was created by T. James Ferrell, an artist and illustrator, and it was engraved by Matthew Peloso. The initials "TJF" for the designer can be found on the coin, typically located near the sap buckets on the lower right of the design.
