This is a rare and fascinating hardcover First Edition pristine new condition book on Africa by two great authors who write well together. This super condition rare book is very collectible Africana. “Medieval Africa 1250-1800,” by Roland Oliver and Anthony Atmore, was published by Cambridge University Press in 2001, hardcover, and was published without a dust jacket. This book was kept in a vault and even smells new. Professor Roland Oliver was a spellbinding teacher at the University of London. Anthony Atmore was a roving visiting Professor who taught in Universities in Great Britain and Africa. The two of them write an easy and exciting to read account of the complexities and probabilities of what happened in Africa from 1250-1800 with particular emphasis on East Africa. Their observations and conjectures are thoughtful and thought provoking, all in an easy going yet fact filled style. These guys know their stuff and are humble in writing such a deep, short (251 pages) history book.
