ST. LUCIE COUNTY — St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies were fired upon Wednesday by occupants of a vehicle during a traffic stop, though no deputies were injured, the agency stated.
The incident happened about 6:45 p.m. as sheriff’s investigators tried to stop a vehicle in the 1200 block of North 17th Street, which is north of Orange Avenue in the area of the intersection with Avenue K.
