Seven student-athletes are in consideration for TCPalm’s Athlete of the Week for competitions during the week of Dec. 5-10.

Last week, Pine School soccer standout Keziah Anderson won Athlete of the Week receiving 44 percent of the vote after scoring 11 goals in four matches for the Knights in a span of three weeks from Nov. 14-Dec. 3.

Coaches can email scores to [email protected] or [email protected] each night in order for athletes to be considered to be nominated each week.

This week, voting takes place beginning at noon Monday and will close Thursday at noon.

TJ Schuck, Port St. Lucie

In a week where the Jaguars went 2-1, Schuck posted three double-doubles and notably had a monster game on Dec. 7 going for 29 points and 22 rebounds in a 68-60 win over Sebastian River.

Shiv Patel, Pine School

In three wins during the week for the Knights, Patel averaged 20.6 points including a 27-point night against Jensen Beach on Dec. 6 in a 57-52 win in which the senior broke the program record for career points.

Elizabeth Fitzwater, Jensen Beach

In two wins during the week for Falcons, Fitzwater scored 18 points in a 62-43 win over Somerset College Prep on Dec. 6 and added 15 points in a 51-39 win over Okeechobee on Dec. 8.

Makena Meyer, South Fork

Meyer had a night to remember on Dec. 6, scoring six goals and added an assist in an 8-1 win over Centennial and added two more goals and three assists in a 8-0 win over Okeechobee on Dec. 8.

Aidan Madden, Fort Pierce Central

At the Steadwell-Grow Memorial on Dec. 9-10, Madden won the title at 182 pounds earning all three of wins via pin and in the final pinned Archbishop McCarthy’s Matthew Rojas in the first period.

Clayton Yearby, Port St. Lucie

At the Steadwell-Grow Memorial on Dec. 9-10, Yearby won the title at 195 pounds pinning his three opponents including Fort Pierce Central’s Issac Scalabrin in the final in the second period.

Kevin Benjamin, Vero Beach

At the 2022 Santaluces Holiday Tournament, Benjamin won the title at 138 pounds winning all five of his matches via pin and defeated Palm Beach Gardens’ Tyrus Randle in the final in the second period.
