Running of the Wieners

  • 1-5 p.m. Saturday
  • Pareidolia Brewing Company, 712 Cleveland St., Sebastian
  • The eighth annual event features Dachshund races, live music by Group Therapy, raffles, the Smoked on the Water food truck, beer and prizes. All dog breeds are welcome to race. Proceeds benefit H.A.L.O. No-Kill Rescue.

Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk

  • The 35th annual event features plant and flower vendors, garden supplies, arts and crafts, children’s activities, food and refreshments and demonstrations.

Heathcote Botanical Gardens held their 32nd annual Garden Festival on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in Fort Pierce. The free event continues from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday and includes plant and garden art vendors, talks with horticulture experts, refreshments, and children’s activities. "In spite of the rain, I'm happy with today’s turnout. Garden people love their plants," said Diane Kimes, executive director of the garden.

Harvest in the Preserve

  • 4-8 p.m. Saturday
  • McCarty Ranch Preserve, 12525 Range Line Road, Port St. Lucie
  • Stroll the Jack-O-Lantern Trail full of hand-carved pumpkins, climb aboard a hayride, enjoy the food vendors, purchase pumpkins and plants and dance to the live music.
