A pre-teen girl swimming at Hobe Sound Beach Sunday was bitten by a shark, according to Jupiter Island Public Safety Dept. 

She was taken by helicopter to St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, according to the report. She was said to have non life threatening injuries.

Swimmers were asked to use caution when swimming in ocean waters especially at beaches with no lifeguards.

Florida photographer Paul Dabill says he often sees sharks when he films in the area, but the water being particularly “calm and clear”  helped produce "stunning results."
