Florida’s restaurant owners are not required to post restaurant inspection results where guests can see them. So every few weeks, we provide that information for you.

Each inspection report is a “snapshot” of conditions present at the time of the inspection. On any given day, an establishment may have fewer or more violations than noted in its most recent inspection. An inspection conducted on any given day may not be representative of the overall, long-term conditions at the establishment.

In the last few weeks, 112 restaurants passed inspection at the first visit. Fourteen restaurants did not pass the first inspection at the first visit. Twenty-eight restaurants had zero violations.Here’s the breakdown of the most recent St. Lucie County restaurant inspections:

The Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation’s Division of Hotels and Restaurants conducts unannounced inspections using a three-tier system for food safety and sanitation inspections.

Shut down restaurants

  • Checkers 6274, 10461 S. Federal Hwy., Port St. Lucie, emergency order recommended, closed and reopened Feb. 21

Most violations in the last 30 days

  • Chef Kelly’s Restspanurspannt &spanmp; Mspanrket, 1156 SE Port St. Lucie Blvd., Port St. Lucie, had 29 violations including carbon dioxide/helium tanks not adequately secured; clean equipment/utensils not stored at least six inches above the floor; clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner; cold holding equipment not maintained in good repair. Do not store time/temperature control for safety food in this unit until the unit is repaired; cutting board has cut marks and is no longer cleanable; equipment and utensils not properly air-dried – wet nesting; food stored on floor; in-use tongs stored on equipment door handle between uses; label on a food item prepared and packaged onsite for customer self-service does not include product identity/deion, date product was packaged and name and address of the establishment that prepared and packaged the food; no handwashing sign provided at a hand sink used by food; cooked/heated time/temperature control for safety food not cooled from 135 degrees Fahrenheit to 41 degrees Fahrenheit within 6 hours; displayed food not properly protected from contamination; food with mold-like growth; raw animal food stored over or with unwashed produce; ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food marked with a date that exceeds seven days after opening/preparation; stop sale issued due to food originating from an unapproved source; stop sale issued on time/temperature control for safety food due to temperature abuse; time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit;  time/temperature control for safety food reheated for hot holding not reaching 165 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 seconds within 2 hours; time/temperature control for safety food, other than whole meat roast, hot held at less than 135 degrees Fahrenheit; manager or person in charge lacking proof of food manager certification; menu does not identify which items contain raw or undercooked animal foods covered by the consumer advisory; no probe thermometer provided to measure temperature of food products; no proof of required state approved employee training provided for any employees; no proof provided that food employees are informed of their responsibility to report to the person in charge information about their health and activities related to foodborne illnesses; operator is not properly tracking/marking the number of days ready-to-eat, time/temperature control for safety food prepared onsite was held at refrigeration temperatures prior to freezing in order to properly date mark the food when it is thawed and held at refrigeration temperatures again; raw/undercooked animal food offered and establishment has no written consumer advisory; water treatment device has not been inspected or serviced according to manufacturer’s instructions; and water with a temperature of at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit not provided/shut off at employee hand wash sink.
  • Golden Corrspanl Grill spannd Buffet, 651 NW St. Lucie West Blvd., Port St. Lucie, had 19 violations including bowl or other container with no handle used to dispense food; ceiling not smooth, nonabsorbent and easily cleanable in food preparation, food storage, or ware washing areas; clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner; cove molding at floor/wall juncture broken/missing; duct tape used to repair nonfood-contact surface; equipment and utensils not properly air-dried – wet nesting; equipment in poor repair;  floors not maintained smooth and durable; food storage container/container lid cracked or broken; ice buildup in reach-in freezer and/or walk-in freezer; nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime or dust; old food stuck to clean dishware/utensils; old labels stuck to food containers after cleaning; working containers of food removed from original container not identified by common name; dented/rusted cans present; establishment operating without a license from the Division of Hotels and Restaurants; raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food;  time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit;  no paper towels or mechanical hand drying device provided at hand wash sink; and raw/undercooked animal food offered and establishment has no written consumer advisory.
  • Dspanvinci’s Restspanurspannt, 6692 S. US 1, St. Lucie Sq., Port St. Lucie, had 16 violations including accumulation of black/green mold-like substance in the interior of the ice machine/bin; bowl or other container with no handle used to dispense food; ceiling/ceiling tile shows damage or is in disrepair; cutting board has cut marks and is no longer cleanable; food stored on floor; ice build-up in reach-in freezer and/or walk-in freezer; interior of oven/microwave has accumulation of black substance/grease/food debris; single-service articles not stored inverted or protected from contamination; wall soiled with accumulated grease, food debris, and/or dust; working containers of food removed from original container not identified by common name; dish machine chlorine sanitizer not at proper minimum strength; raw animal food stored over/not properly separated from ready-to-eat food; time/temperature control for safety food cold held at greater than 41 degrees F; time/temperature control for safety food identified in the written procedure as a food held using time as a public health control has no time marking and the time removed from temperature control; hand wash sink used for purposes other than handwashing. Items stored in sink; and required employee training expired for some employees.
  • Mespandowood Golf &spanmp; Tennis Club Inc., 9425 Meadowood Dr., Fort Pierce, had 13 violations including carbon dioxide/helium tanks not adequately secured; ceiling/ceiling tile shows damage or is in disrepair; clean glasses, cups, bowls, plates, pots and pans not stored inverted or in a protected manner; commercially processed reduced oxygen packaged fish bearing a label indicating that it is to remain frozen until time of use no longer frozen and not removed from reduced oxygen package; food stored on floor; nonfood-contact surface soiled with grease, food debris, dirt, slime or dust; old labels stuck to food containers after cleaning; single-service articles improperly stored;  unnecessary items/unused equipment on the premises; .working containers of food removed from original container not identified by common name; toxic substance/chemical improperly stored; food-contact surface soiled with food debris, mold-like substance or slime; and no measuring device available for measuring utensil surface temperature when using hot water as sanitizer in a dish machine.
