PORT ST. LUCIE — A 14-year-old student at St. Lucie West Centennial High School was struck by a van Monday about 6:30 a.m. at Crosstown Parkway and Southwest Cameo Boulevard.

Her injuries are not considered life threatening, said Sgt. John Dellacroce, Port St. Lucie Police spokesperson.

The teen girl was crossing Crosstown Parkway from south to north when the crash with the westbound van occurred, he said.

Dellacroce said the teen was not in a crosswalk at the time.

The girl was flown to a hospital with what police described as non-life threatening head injuries.

The van driver, who was not injured, was not at fault or ticketed in the crash, Dellacroce said.
