Five student-athletes are in consideration for TCPalm’s Athlete of the Week vote for games during the week of Jan. 23-28.

Last week, Lincoln Park Academy basketball standout Olivia Titherington received over 5,600 votes to earn Athlete of the Week honors.

Titherington put up 24 points and seven rebounds and four steals to help the Greyhounds defeat Jensen Beach 48-46 back on Jan. 17.

This week’s poll will open at noon on Monday and will close Thursday at noon.

Coaches can email scores to [email protected] or [email protected] each night in order for athletes to be considered to be nominated each week.

South Fork High School hosts the girls weightlifting District 15-2A championship, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, in Martin County.

Vanessa Hernandez, Sebastian River

At the District 15-2A Girls Weightlifting Championship on Jan. 25, Hernandez helped the Sharks win the team titles in the traditional lifts and Olympic lifts for the Sharks, lifting 95 pounds for the snatch, 125 pounds on the bench press and 145 pounds on the clean-and-jerk to win individually at both lifts in the 119-pound division.

Enjyai Tyson, Vero Beach

At the District 13-3A Girls Weightlifting Championship on Jan. 25, Tyson helped Vero win the team titles in the traditional lifts and Olympic lifts, lifting 140 pounds for the snatch, 190 pounds on the clean-and-jerk and 200 pounds on the bench press to win individually at both lifts in the 169-pound division.

Emma Dooley, John Carroll Catholic

At the District 15-1A Girls Weightlifting Championship on Jan. 25, Dooley helped the Rams win the team titles in the traditional lifts and Olympic lifts, lifting 85 pounds for the snatch, 110 pounds on the bench press and 140 pounds on the clean-and-jerk to win individually at both lifts in the 139-pound division.

Aliciana McCloyne, Treasure Coast

At the District 13-3A Girls Weightlifting Championship on Jan. 25, McCloyne had a big day winning individual district titles in the traditional lifts and Olympic lifts for the Titans, lifting 110 pounds for the snatch, 140 pounds on the bench press and 175 pounds on the clean-and-jerk.

Jaydon Washington, Centennial

In a 2-1 week for the Eagles, Washington had three strong games particularly from the 3-point line making 11-for-21 attempts. The senior posted 12 points and five assists in a 66-54 win over Sebastian River on Jan. 24, 15 points and five assists in a 74-67 loss to Sagemont and scored 22 points to help Centennial snap Fort Pierce Central’s 13-game win streak with a 65-56 win on Jan. 27.
